In just three years, Instagram has grown to over 150 million people capturing and sharing images from around everywhere.
In the social media world, Instagram has gained momentum, in part being acquired by Facebook, but keeping its own identity and features for sharing images.
Last year, a video sharing service was added. Today, Instagram rolled out a more concise method of distribution for both images and video: INSTAGRAM DIRECT.
Rather than mass-distribution sharing, Instagram Direct enables you to share your content with 1 to 15 people. “After sending, you’ll be able to find out who’s seen your photo or video, see who’s liked it and watch your recipients commenting in real time as the conversation unfolds.” (Source: Instagram)
It strikes me that Instagram Direct is a more personal, targeted method of sharing content. It should be very useful for targeting limited groups of people (customers, prospects, and peers) with specific content, prior to Bridal Spectacular.
The tracking information provided by Instagram Direct gives you a good sense of the interest in particular messages.
Think about how you can target to smaller groups of people (or even just one person) who may have exceptional value to you, when engaged in an online conversation.
Time to experiment!
